SOUNDSCAPES are eight compositions for solo ambient, electric guitar with effects. These compositions are completely composed and there isn't any improvisation. The freedom is in the time as there is not any strict rhythms to adhere to, similar to Gregorian Chant.
The music flows in and out reminiscent to the ambient sounds in space. These sounds are some of the most beautiful in nature. They are ever constant with no beginning or end and flow between consonance and dissonant resonances. The lack of overall specific rhythmic pulses in these compositions creates a moving, meditative soundscape through time.
The artwork for the album cover was taken by photographer Gregory Reither. It's a beautiful picture of a hillside off the Belchenflue Mountain, Swiss Border, which is part of a system of hills utilized by the Celts (roughly 3000 years ago) to determine solstices. Gregor used a 1961 35mm camera with B&W film and purposely underexposed the picture to get stronger contrasts and increased grain.
The picture matches my compositions perfectly. The album is available on Bandcamp.
